This will make it easier for both buyers and sellers to carry out property transactions. Multilingual state-wise land records will provide detailed property-related information including the name, area, and size of the land parcel. Sonmoni Borah, the Joint Secretary of the Land Resources Department of Rural Development Ministry said, “The project was conceived on the direction of the Prime Minister’s Office following a grievance received in 2021 regarding difficulty faced in accessing land records due to the linguistic barrier.”
The ministry is working on the PAN-India rollout project and will make multilingual land records available on all the dedicated land records portals by the end of July 2023. This will help citizens access their land-related information in their preferred language.
